Thomas Bartee is the Branch Chief for the Federal Public Defender's Office in Kansas City, Kansas. He received a juris doctorate from the University of Kansas in 1991. Mr. Bartee graduated from the University of Kansas School of Law in 1991. Thereafter, he worked in the Missouri State Public Defender's Office in Sedalia for two years before returning to Kansas in 1993 to work in the Shawnee County Public Defender's Office in Topeka. In 1995, he moved to the Kansas Appellate Defender's Office, then transferred to the Death Penalty Defense Unit in 1996. In 1999, Mr. Bartee became Chief of the Northeast Kansas Conflict Office. In 2009, he joined the Federal Public Defender's Office, in Topeka, and became the Branch Chief of the Kansas City office in 2012.
